The Queen Anne sail from Southampton to Lisbon
There will be quite a spectacle on The Solent when Cunard’s new luxury cruise liner, the Queen Anne, passes the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Tuesday).
The stunning 3,000-passenger liner will be heading into Southampton tomorrow afternoon, due to arrive there at 3pm.
Cunard’s newest ship — the fourth in their current fleet and the 249th ship in its history — will pass the Isle of Wight early afternoon, which will be seen in the East Wight and across the north of the Island.
The best vantage points to see the 113,000-tonne Queen Anne will be on Culver Down, Bembridge, Appley, East Cowes, Cowes and Gurnard.
The Queen Anne, with 14 decks, is due to set sail from Southampton on her maiden voyage, to Lisbon, Portugal, on Friday, May 3, at 9.15pm.
It is the first of a series of cruises to historic Mediterranean cities, the Caribbean islands and the Norwegian fjords during her first year of operation.
