Georgia vs Portugal a heavily rotated Portugal side is expected
Roberto Martinez is set to make changes as Portugal take on Georgia at Euro 2024.
Wins over Czech Republic and Turkey have ensured Portugal already have top spot in Group F wrapped up, and rotation is now expected before the focus shifts to a last-16 clash against one of the best third-placed teams.
“Securing first place is good because there are a lot of players in the dressing room who deserve to play, and we need to give them opportunities to show what they’ve got and create a competitive environment,” Martinez said after the victory over Turkey.
Diogo Jota, Gonçalo Ramos and João Felix could all start in a new-look front three, with Cristiano Ronaldo likely to be rested and Rafael Leão suspended after picking up his second booking of the tournament.
The likes of Joao Neves and Matheus Nunes will hope to get their chance to impress, while Nelson Semedo is an option to start at right-back should João Cancelo drop out.
Fulham midfielder João Palhinha came into the side against Georgia but is a yellow card away from a suspension, and may not be risked here.
